Shinto Sayaka is a young girl, most likely 14 years old. Originally, she was Cure Blossom Mirage and believed Tsubomi couldn't change. After the final test, she was brought back to the Pretty Cure Palace thanks to Tsubomi and later took a civilian identity. She can now transform into Cure Lily after she said she wanted to help people instead of hurt them.

Etymology

Shinto - Shin means "pure" and To means "and"

Sayaka - Her name means "clear"

Together her name means "pure and clear", referring to her start of villain and later ending up as a Cure.

Trivia

  • Sayaka has the quickest speed from villain to hero (1 1/2 episodes as a villain, every episode onwards as a hero, Cure Lily).
  • Sayaka and Setsuna are similar:
    • They were villains at some point
    • They do not have a true family
    • They are adopted by the lead Cure's parents
    • Their theme colors are very similar in color (Sayaka=red, Setsuna=crimson)
  • Sayaka and Aguri are similar:
    • Their first appearance wasn't in civilian form
    • They are both red-themed Cures
    • They appear later than the other Cures of their team
  • We didn't know who Cure Lily was in episode 39 although Sayaka appeared, but episode 40 reveals it is indeed Sayaka.
  • Cure Blossom Mirage is one of the seven characters who were originally not intended to become a Cure/receive Cure powers but later did.
    • Others being Kujou Hikari, Michiru and Kaoru, Milk, Eas, and Siren.
