Hinaka Hennessy (火中ヘネシー Hino Heneshī) is one of the Cures in Shining Jewels Pretty Cure. Her alter ego is Cure Amber (キュアアンバー Kyua Anbā) and represents light. Her catchphrase is "Yes! Score one!" (はい！スコアワン！ Hai! Sukoa wan!)

Personality

Hennessy is the 14 year old team captain of the softball team at her school, and her sporty personality fits along. She does not like to take a defeat, but she handles it to the best of her ability. She has a short temper along with that, and a huge defeat triggers it.

Cure Amber (キュアアンバー Kyua Anbā) is Hennessy's Pretty Cure alter ego, and she represents light. In order to transform into this form, Hennessy must have her Shining Jewel and use the phrase "Pretty Cure, Unlock My Power!"

Purity Amber (ピュアリッティーアンバー Pyuarittī Anbā) is Cure Amber's upgrade received through the Purity Jewel, which must be accessed at the same time her other teammates activate it. In this form, she can use the group finisher Colorful Healing Chain.

Etymology

Hinaka (火中) - "Hi" (火) translates to "fire", which can be produced from too much/hot light, and "Naka" (中) translates to "inside".

Hennessy (ヘネシー) - It is unknown why the character has this name, as it refers to a cognac house founded by Richard Hennessy.

Cure Amber refers to the amber gemstone which is of an orange color.

Trivia

• Hennessy and Alumi are the only Shining Jewels members to have the same birth month.
• Hennessy shares her initials with Hojo Hibiki and Haruno Haruka.
  • This makes Hennessy the first non-lead Cure to have the initials H.H.
